Privacy

We collect the answers you give us and the messages you send, and we use them to find you a good mentor and to email you about that match. We don’t sell your data. We don’t show your life-stage answers to anyone. You can ask us to delete everything at any time.

• Your onboarding answers. What you value, what you’re confused about right now, how you like to work, your time zone and when you’re free, plus optional extras like hobbies.
• Your account details. Your name and email address. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, so your password never reaches us.
• Your messages. What you write to your match inside Unconfuse, and any notes you write about a match.
• Optional life-stage answers. Your age range and family situation. These are optional, and “prefer not to say” is always an option.
• Basic technical logs. The everyday stuff any website records, like errors and which pages loaded, so we can keep the site working.

• We match you. Our code first narrows down who could work — the right area, someone with room for a new mentee, a time zone that lines up. Then an AI model (Google Gemini) reads both sides’ answers, scores the fit, and writes a short reason. A person at Unconfuse looks at the suggestions before any match is sent to you.
• We show your match a blind profile. Your story without your name, your face, or where you work. Names are only swapped when you both say yes.
• We email you. Things like “you have a match” or “you have a new message”. These are sent through Resend.

• We never sell or rent your data, and we don’t hand it to advertisers.
• We never show your life-stage answers to another person. Not your match, not a mentor, not anyone browsing profiles. They are used only as a quiet signal while matching, and if you pick “prefer not to say” they aren’t used at all.
• We never post anything as you, anywhere, and we never share your name or contact details with a match before you agree.

We use a small number of companies to run Unconfuse. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job:

• Clerk — sign-in and your account email.
• Neon — the database where your answers and messages are stored.
• Google (Gemini) — reads answers to score how well two people might fit.
• Resend — sends our emails.
• Vercel — hosts the website.

We keep your profile and answers while your account is open, because that’s what makes matching work. Ask us to delete your account and we remove your profile, your answers and your messages. Some things may sit in backups for a short while before they age out.

• You can change or clear most of your answers any time in Settings.
• You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete all of it.
• You can stop using Unconfuse at any point. No lock-in, nothing to cancel.
